"BY PRESSING an electric switch, radio listeners may express approval of a current radio program. Holding down a small switch attached to the base of a small lamp placed near the radio, the increased current drain is shown at the local power plant or substation. Now being used in France, the idea was first tried out by an American power company working with an eastern broadcasting chain."

Back in October we were asked to work on a concept for the department's exhibition, due next summer. Our pitch stood no chance, but for the record - that's what we came up with (we, that's Tim Blechmann, Bernhard Garnicnig, Korinna Lindinger, me, and I am sure I am missing someone here..):

Künsterische Arbeiten der Stundenten zu den, für uns relevanten Themen, jeweils im Bezug auf "neue Medien"

- Absenz und Präsenz

- Gegenwärtigkeit

- Körperlichkeit

- Raum, Raumgreifen, das Erweitern von Raum

- Identität, insbesondere die Fragmentierung von Identität und ihre Konstruktion (Social Software..)

- Territorium

- Liebe


Zusätzlich stand noch im Raum für die Ausstellung den Verzicht auf (Push-Button) Interaktivität und allzu angestaubte Patterns aus dem Fundus der Apparatekunst (Feedback-Loops) zu fordern.

This page implements a "$1 Gesture Recognizer" that is easy, cheap, and usable almost anywhere. It requires under 100 lines of easy code and achieves 97% recognition rates with only one template defined for each gesture below.
